Thirty years ago, Medellín was one of the world’s most dangerous cities.

Today, it has been recognized as one of the most innovative.

This is the story of the technological transformation happening in the “City of Eternal Spring.”

In 1988, TIME magazine dubbed Medellín, Colombia the most dangerous city in the world. Thirty years later, the World Economic Forum named Medellín a Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the first city of its kind in Latin America. ESPACIO and its partners created the Medellín Innovation Report to highlight how the city is transforming into a hub for technology and innovation.
